On November 12th we graduated 15 new FTOs who completed the 40-hour Basic FTO School in Ruston, Louisiana hosted by the Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office. Agencies included Ouachita Parish, Union Parish, St. Landry Parish, Pointe Coupee Parish, Lincoln Parish, Opelousas Police, Homer Police, Haughton Police and Louisiana Tech Police.
Several students stated they are excited to bring back new ideas and skills they learned to help them train and develop their new hires in becoming an asset to their future crews. We provided several of them a complete Field Training Manual to assist their agency with formulating a program to fit their specific needs.
As we look forward, we will be heading to Everett, Washington in February.
If you would like to host a class or just need some information about our program, please feel free to give us a call or send us an email. We will get back to you promptly.
As mentioned, our goal is not just to train you to be a good FTO, but to be a great FTO.

What The Students Have to Say About This Class:
- “Very knowledgeable instructors, great training for any FTO.”
- “This was a very informative and beneficial course. At times, too many personal stories. Otherwise it is an excellent course that will drastically change the way I train in a positive way.”
- “All of the course material was broken down to a level easily understood. Instructors provided several examples to relay their message and answer every question without fail.”
- “This class was great and will help with my department’s FTO Program.”
- “Really good class and information. After being through other instructor development classes, I really liked how you put together and explained the adult learning block. I personally got the most out of the evaluation block. I feel like I have a good understanding how to correctly fill out the DOR. I really appreciate how willing you were to answer questions, and even made yourself available after class. Thank you!”
- “This class was very informative. It is an eye-opening experience. I feel like this class will make me a better FTO in the future. I also feel like this class is a necessity for any new FTO to understand the importance and structure of being an FTO.”
- “Best class I have taken in 20 years of law enforcement. Would recommend this class to all front-line officers and supervisors.”
- “This class has given me the knowledge to go out and help mold the new minds of law enforcement and for that I am ever thankful. Difficult topics were explained clearly. Would have like more visual aids.”
